Firefighters work through the night to tackle blaze at three-storey property in Rothwell
Fire crews spent more than nine hours at the scene after a blaze broke out in a three-storey building in Rothwell.
Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service (NFRS) was called to reports of a fire at a property in Horse Fair Lane in Rothwell at about 12.20pm today (Thursday, July 30).
A spokesman for NFRS said: “Four crews and an aerial appliance initially attended the fire, which was burning through two upper floors of a three-storey property and into the loft.
"Wearing breathing apparatus, firefighters used jets to tackle the fire throughout the night and into this morning.
"The fire was out shortly before 8am this morning, with crews damping down remaining hotspots until around 9.30am.
"All occupants of the property and next door had evacuated before the arrival of crews, with two being left in the care of EMAS.”
The spokesman added that an investigation into the cause of the fire is taking place today.
