Excitement as Kettering Taco Bell opens new restaurant in town

Customers keen to get their hands on their first taste of a Taco Bell from the new Kettering outlet were inside the new store at 11am prompt.

The newly refurbished unit, owned and managed by the company, is the 14th and newest non-franchise Taco Bell outlet in the UK.

Able to seat 34 diners, the restaurant chain will offer state-of-the-art order point as well as a cash-free till service.

Area Coach (manager) Russell Mayes has overseen the new team of 20 staff members and is thrilled the store is open.

He said: “What we offer is good quality food, fast service and value of money. Already the people in the town have been amazing. The buzz has been really welcoming and there’s been a real nice feel of strong engagement.

"We have a team of 20 including management, and for eight of those it will be their first job.”

Concentrating on over-the-counter sales for a fortnight, in two weeks click and collect and delivery services – Just Eat, Deliveroo and Uber Eats – will come online.

First in line for a vegetarian meal was Kettering resident Leia Pendleton, originally from Liverpool who was ‘hungry’.

She said: “I’ve not had a Taco Bell since 2019. I’m excited for it and I’m hungry – it’s long overdue.

"I’m a veggie and there’s not much choice at McDonalds and I’m sick of the chippy and Chinese food.”

Ash Minard from Burton Latimer took an early lunch to browse the menu.

He said: “It’s good value and something a bit different and it’s handy for me, probably a bit too handy!”

Manager Gabriel Bradu welcomed customers to the store.

He said: “It’s exciting. It’s something new for Kettering. I’m very happy with the team and they are excited after all their hard work and training to be open.

Taco Bell is now open in Carina Road, Kettering next to Nandos just off Pytchley Road in the former Pizza Hut unit.

It opens from 11am to 11pm every day.
