30 'vital' Corby community groups to benefit from Grassroots Fund

Each group has been handed £250 – totaling £7,500 for all 30 – from a fund designed to provide support to local residents during winter and into the start of the New Year.

It is hoped the funding will help each group facilitate work in well-being and mental health, combatting loneliness, warm spaces or youth engagement.

Leader of Corby Town Council, Cllr Simon Rielly, said: “These groups play a vital role in supporting residents, bringing people together and improving well-being across Corby and these awards recognise the difference they make every single day.

“A massive thank you to all the volunteers, organisers and members who drive these projects forward – your work strengthens our community and helps to make Corby a healthier, more connected place to live.”

The grants, which were available on a first come, first served basis, opened for applications at the start of January, with a view to providing support at a time of year that can be challenging for many.
