Corby Town Council launches £5,000 post-Christmas support fund
Corby Town Council is launching a new £5,000 Grass Roots Fund which is set to open on January 5, 2026.
The fund is specifically designed to provide rapid support to residents during the challenging winter months and the start of the New Year.
Grants of up to £250 are available on a first come, first served basis.
The scheme will offer fast-access funding to community organisations and volunteer groups dedicated to improving mental well-being, social connection and financial resilience.

In a move to ensure grassroot support and the funding reaches every corner of the town, the council has confirmed that non-constituted groups are eligible to apply.
As long as a group is known in the community, they can access these funds without needing formal legal status or a constitution, making this one of the most accessible grants ever offered by the council.
The initiative acknowledges that while December is often a time of celebration, the weeks following Christmas can bring significant emotional and financial strain.
The grants will fund a variety of local projects, including:
- Well-being and mental health: Support sessions and outreach programs
- Combatting loneliness: Social groups and community coffee mornings
- Warm spaces: Safe, heated environments for residents to gather
- Youth engagement: Targeted programs for younger residents during the winter term
Town council leader Cllr Simon Rielly said: "We want this scheme to provide timely support when residents need it most.
"By launching after Christmas, we are targeting a period where mental well-being pressures often increase.
"This fund will enable local groups to step in with meaningful support and create stronger, more connected communities across Corby."
The town council wants to keep the process streamlined to ensure funds reach the community as quickly as possible.
