Mini heatwave set hit Northamptonshire on Wednesday, says Pitsford Hall Weather Station

Northamptonshire is set for a mini heatwave this week, according to experts from Pitsford Hall Weather Station.

Temperatures are set to rise to a high of 29C on Wednesday and stay in the mid-20s through the weekend.

A spokesman said: “by Tuesday temperatures will be on the rise with a likely high of 27C. Wednesday could see temperatures peak at 29C. Following another very warm day on Thursday (28C), the heat will tend to ease on Friday and into the weekend, but still remain in the mid 20s.

“High pressure currently to the south is expected to move northwards and eastwards and then remain fairly stationary over the North Sea and southern Scandinavia drawing up very warm air from the Mediterranean.

“The warmth will be sufficient to trigger some occasional showers on Wednesday, but most days will see lengthy spells of strong sunshine with

high UV levels,” he added.
