A community rallied round to help when flooding hit the village of Brigstock last night (Wednesday).

Brigstock Parish Council teamed up with residents to evacuate people from sheltered accommodation scheme Harpers Court as the waters rose.

They helped find accommodation for those who needed it overnight and today the clean-up operation has started.
