IN PICTURES: The aftermath as Brigstock suffers 'worst flooding we have ever seen'

Residents were evacuated from a sheltered accommodation scheme and both the village hall and the doctor's surgery were flooded

A community rallied round to help when flooding hit the village of Brigstock last night (Wednesday).

Brigstock Parish Council teamed up with residents to evacuate people from sheltered accommodation scheme Harpers Court as the waters rose.

They helped find accommodation for those who needed it overnight and today the clean-up operation has started.
