A Kettering park will feature a burst of colour after councillors planted crocus bulbs to enhance a popular community space.

The bulbs, which will bloom next spring, were planted at the Rockingham Road Pleasure Park by Conservative borough councillors Lesley Thurland and Greg Titcombe.

County councillor Bill Parker (Con, Clover Hill) secured the bulbs through the Rotary Club of Kettering Huxloe.

It's hoped they will provide a colourful addition to the park to benefit local residents who visit and pollinator species such as bees.

Cllr Thurland said: “We are always pleased with the works carried out by Kettering Council’s grounds team and thank them for their hard work around the Pleasure Park.

"Ours is just a small enhancement that we wanted to add to the enjoyment of everyone next spring, and we thank the Rotary Club and Cllr Bill Parker for the donation of the bulbs.”
