Two injured after Kettering town centre fight

Two people were left with minor injuries after a fight in Kettering which saw a big police response, it has been confirmed.

Seven police vehicles and a dog unit were called to Montagu Street after the incident at about 6pm tonight (Wednesday).

The Northants Telegraph understands the fight happened at a family function at Turkish restaurant Sedir.

One man was taken to Kettering General Hospital to be treated for his injuries.

A police spokesman said: "Police were called to an altercation at a restaurant in Montagu Street, Kettering, at about 6pm.

"Upon arrival, officers found a man and woman who had sustained minor injuries.

"The man was taken to Kettering General Hospital.

"Witnesses or anyone with information can call Northamptonshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111."

Police originally taped off Montagu Street between Silver Street and Eskdaill Street, with officers also seen in School Lane.

One nearby business owner, who did not want to be named, said his staff had been told not to leave the premises while police dealt with the incident.
