Three arrests made after ‘serious incident’ sees police deployed across Corby

The police helicopter, armed officers and police dogs were out in the town

Police swarmed across several parts of Corby this evening following a serious incident.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing a large amount of blood in West Glebe Park as officers swooped on the popular family facility.

Onlookers also saw officers at the Boating Lake, on the Lodge Park estate and on the Beanfield Estate, where they made arrests next to the Ollerton Play Area.

A local resident said: “I heard the helicopter first then police shouting.

”Looked like two youngish guys they had on the ground.

”They had police dogs out as well as armed police and the helicopter.”

Several scenes in Corby remain taped off tonight.

The local police proactive team confirmed this evening that three men were in custody following the ‘serious incident, which began at about 7pm. They also said that the force’s armed response vehicle had been involved as well as police dogs.

No further details have yet been made public on the nature of the incident.
