Third arrest after Desborough caravan 'petrol bombed'

Police investigating a fire at a Travellers' site in Desborough which allegedly involved a petrol bomb have made a third arrest.

The 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of arson and released on bail after the incident at about 12.45am yesterday (Wednesday).

Armed police were called to the the Spinney Close caravan site in Braybrooke Road with the police helicopter hovering overhead after reports that an altercation had taken place and that a caravan had been deliberately set on fire.

It has been alleged that the caravan caught fire after a man threw a petrol bomb at it.

Nobody was injured in the incident.

Police previously arrested a 44-year-old man from Desborough on suspicion of attempted murder and a 22-year-old man of no fixed address but from the Wellingborough area on suspicion of arson.

They have both been released on bail pending further enquiries.
