Attempted murder arrest after 'petrol bomb thrown at caravan' in Desborough

A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a petrol bomb was allegedly thrown at a caravan in Desborough.

A police helicopter hovered above the town with police crews at the scene after the incident at about 12.45am this morning (Wednesday).

Officers were called to a caravan site in Braybrooke Road, near the Arthingworth Road junction, after reports that an altercation had taken place and that a caravan had been deliberately set on fire.

It has been alleged that the caravan caught fire after a man threw a petrol bomb at it.

Nobody was injured in the incident but two men have been arrested and remain in police custody this afternoon.

A 44-year-old man from Desborough has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

A 22-year-old man of no fixed address but from the Wellingborough area has been arrested on suspicion of arson.
