Rushden murder victim named locally
A 25-year-old woman was murdered near St George's Way in Wellingborough Road on Saturday, December 7, at around 8.30pm after she was stabbed.She died at the scene despite the best efforts of paramedics.
The woman is being named locally as Levi Davis, a mother of two.

Hide AdSuperintendent Dennis Murray said at a press briefing that formal identification had yet to take place.
A woman visiting the scene to lay flowers, who declined to name the victim, said: "Our daughters are in the same class.
"I found out yesterday afternoon, my partner saw it on Facebook.
"She was just always smiling and laughing and had such a good sense of humour and she was a brilliant mum. I felt I had to come up, we’ve only known each other for 18 months but we used to spend a lot of time together in the school holidays.
"It’s so sad."
A 27-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Hide AdHe is currently being treated in hospital after a serious assault by another 27-year-old, who has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.A 13-year-old boy who was arrested on suspicion of murder was released yesterday (Sunday) evening with no charges.Today (Monday), Superintendent Murray said police are appealing for information about an altercation believed to have taken place before the murder between the occupants of a black Volkswagen polo and a white Vauxhall van.The vehicles were recovered from nearby Washbrook Road on Sunday.
Police have also been carrying out forensic investigations at an address within sight of the murder scene in Wellingborough Road, which Superintendent Murray said was linked to the murder investigation.
