Murder investigation launched in Corby: two under arrest

Two men are in police custody tonight on suspicion of murder after the death of a man on the Shire Lodge estate in Corby.
Police officers and paramedics were called to an address in Humber Walk shortly before 12.30am today (Saturday, April 11) after reports that a man had been found seriously injured.

Hide AdFingertip searches have been taking place throughout the day.
The victim, who has not yet been formally named by police, was taken to Kettering General Hospital, but died at just before 2am.
A 23-year-old man and a 21-year-old man, were arrested on suspicion of murder by police this afternoon.
They have been transported to the Weekly Woods Justice Centre in Kettering and the Criminal Justice Centre in Northampton where they will be questioned later by detectives.

Hide AdThe victim has not yet been formally identified and a post-mortem is due to be conducted by a Home Office pathologist shortly.
Searches are being carried out a number of locations in the area, including an address in nearby Derwent Walk.
Officers have been conducting door-to-door inquiries throughout the day with several streets cordoned off to allow specialist police search teams to carry out their work.
Senior Investigating Officer, Det Chief Inspector Rob Routledge, from the East Midland Special Operations Unit’s Major Crime Team, said: “Our inquiries are continuing in what has been a dynamic and fast-moving investigation with around 25 officers working on this case.

This is the second murder in Corby this year. At the beginning of March, Ian Little was killed at a house in Landseer Court. Roddi Stewart, 33, was charged with his murder and is being held in custody.
