Fingertip searches under way after ‘serious incident’ on Corby’s Shire Lodge estate

Dozens of police officers are on the scene of a serious incident in Corby.

Scenes of crime officers are currentlyrecording evidence at the property at Derwent Walk close to Dart Close following the incident believed to have occurred overnight (Friday, April 10 to Saturday, April 11).

There are also searches going on at the huge scene between the back of the Shire Lodge cemetery and Humber Walk.

Officers are combing through the grass with sticks to search for any evidence related to the crime.

Northamptonshire Police have not released any further details of the incident but are expect to do so later today.

One neighbour who spoke to our reporter said: “It’s so quiet round here. There’s never been any trouble and we can’t believe this has happened.

”We didn’t hear anything. Just woke up to this first thing this morning.”

”People are saying that someone has been stabbed but that’s all we’ve heard.”

Parts of Dart Close remain cordoned off as well as several other walks in the area.
