A serial burglar charged with the Newlands Centre break-in pleaded guilty to all charges today.

Musa Dukureh-Dukuray, 24, of no fixed abode, appeared in Northampton Magistrates' court via video link from HMP Peterborough today (Thursday).

He pleaded guilty to counts of burglary at the Newlands Shopping centre including at Goldsmiths Jewellers, Pep & Co Clothes, Shake & Slush, Art Works, and Boots.

He is also charged with attempting to enter and burgle Eurochange and with criminal damage.

The Newlands Centre was broken into overnight between September 10 and 11.District Judge Jones said the burglary was part of a "spree" by Dukureh-Dukuray.

He was sentenced to 46 weeks in prison on February 7 for ransacking four Kettering salons in one morning, just weeks after he had been given a 20-week suspended sentence for burgling St Andrew's Church in Lindsay Street.

During his Newlands Centre burglary, Dukureh-Dukuray caused £2,376.50 worth of damage to Pep & Co's window and stole clothes and a fire extinguisher worth £200.

He also stole a number of watches from Goldsmiths, a till worth £200 from Tapri Cafe, a high-viz vest and an ice pick from Art Works and stole cash from Boots.

Dukureh-Dukuray, a Spanish national, spoke through an interpreter to plead to all charges and said: "I am guilty, yes. All charges, all charges, all of them."

He will be sentenced at Northampton Crown Court on Friday, April 17 and was remanded in custody.
