Two female relatives were in court as the 43-year-old, of Nene Road, Burton Latimer appeared for an administrative hearing.

He is accused of murdering Christopher Streather, 51, in a property in High Street, Burton Latimer, on September 2.

Judge Lucking set a trial date of March 30 next year, and ordered Moore to appear on December 18 this year at a plea hearing.

Defended by Mary Prior KC, Moore did not enter any pleas and spoke only to confirm that he had understood that he must appear at a forthcoming court date.

The case was adjourned for legal reports to be compiled.
