5. Brendan Reilly
The double-Olympic high jumper represented both Great Britain and Ireland at the highest level, peaking with an eighth-place finish at the World Championships in Spain in 1999.
6. Mark 'Lawro' Lawrenson
After an illustrious footballing career at teams including Preston North End and Liverpool, Mark Lawrenson wasn't quite ready to hang up his boots so came to play for Corby town between 1990 and 1992. The history books are sketchy, but it seems he played 28 games for the steelmen. He went on to have a lucrative punditry career.
7. William Sharman
Hurdler William, who grew up on Corby's Exeter estate, had the nation holding its breath as he narrowly missed out on a bronze medal in the 110m hurdles at the 2009 World Athletics Championships. He went on to win silver medals at the Commonwealth Games and the European Championships.
8. Alexander Beleschenko
Born to Ukranian parents in Corby in 1951, Alexander has become a renowned glass artist. His famous works include the glass facade at St John's College, Oxford, the cone wall in Southwark tube station in London, and the Heart of Wales in the Welsh Assembly Building.
