Community celebration to mark re-opening of Thrapston Post Office


Thrapston mayor Cllr Val Carter cut the ribbon for the official opening of the modernised branch at 10 High Street in Thrapston on Saturday.
Ricky Ghuman took over as postmaster last April, and they have been keen to support the Marie Curie charity with a Spring campaign and collections.

Post Office services are now provided from three modern serving positions - two screened and a Post Office service point at the retail counter, offering selected services.
The branch was closed for just over two weeks for the refurbishment to take place.
Opening times are now 8.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday and from 9am to 5.30pm on Saturday.

Hide AdIt is an extra five hours of Post Office services a week on Saturday afternoon.


Extra services have also been added including car tax renewal and the most popular currencies will be available on demand.
Post Office area manager Alan Ridoutt said: “We are making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are to local residents.
“We are confident that this vibrant new-style Post Office at the heart of the local community will meet customer needs.

The changes are part of a major modernisation programme across the Post Office network designed to make it easier for customers to do business, through longer opening hours and modern open plan environments.
