Below is the ten places ranked as the best to walk your dog in Northamptonshire, according to Gary, as well as his ratings of all ten beauty spots.

5. Abington Park
Gary said: "A popular dog walking location for those living in Northampton. Plenty of free parking and dog waste bins. Some owners might not like the busy roads surrounding. Also has a lake which can be seen as a pro or a con." Overall rating: 4.3/5 Photo: Gary Box

6. Irchester Country Park
Gary said: "Great place to walk dogs. Drains well in winter. Facilities like cafe, toilets and dog waste bins. The only negative is the high parking charges. As a place to walk dogs I really liked Irchester Country Park. However, all three country parks suffer from the expensive parking charges." Overall rating: 4.3/5 Photo: Photo: Gary Box

7. Harlestone Firs
Gary said: "A very popular location for walking dogs. Dogs love it here (no doubt partly because of the squirrels!). Could do with more dog waste bins and like many forest locations, can be muddy in winter." Overall rating: 4.2/5 Photo: Gary Box

8. Bradlaugh Fields
Gary said: "My favourite location to walk dogs in Northampton. Lots of different entrances with free parking. Very varied terrain to please all dogs. Great place to meet other dogs and their owners. Plenty of dog waste bins. Barn only open limited hours but run by volunteers. Barn has water fountain for dogs on outside wall. To sum up, Bradlaugh Fields is a fantastic location and a gift that Northampton can be proud of." Overall rating: 4.8/5 Photo: Gary Box
