Monday's daily announcement tends to be lower than the rest of the week due to a delay in recording deaths caused by Covid-19.

The deaths are only included with a positive test result or where Covid-19 is mentioned on a death certificate and both these confirmations may take longer over a weekend.

At KGH there have been 112 deaths while at NGH 169 people have sadly died.

The Office of National Statistics (ONS) revealed last week that 42 care home residents in Northamptonshire homes had died between April 10 and 24.

The combined tolls take Northamptonshire to over 300 deaths since the outbreak of coronavirus.

On Friday, the ONS released the most detailed picture yet of the impact coronavirus has had on the county. The data showed how many people from each area have died from Covid-19.

East Northants has been one of the worst-hit areas in the county with 38 deaths. The data also showed the impact of the virus in Kettering, Corby and Wellingborough.
