Kettering's Peacocks saved from closure
It's back open again
A popular Kettering clothing store is back open for business after it was saved from closure.
Peacocks in High Street was earmarked to shut last year in a big blow for the town, with closing down signs appearing in the window in October.
In November the fashion retail empire it was part of collapsed, placing 2,000 jobs at risk around the country, with all stores forced to close for three months as part of the national Covid-19 lockdown.
But this month the clothes retailer was bought out of administration by an international investment consortium.
And just days later the doors to Kettering's store have been thrown back open as shoppers returned to the town centre.
A Peacocks Kettering spokesman said: "Peacocks Stores in Kettering are no longer in administration so we are now open for business and looking forward to seeing our customers again."
