I am a Sunderland AFC football writer with NationalWorld for the Sunderland Echo. I previously produced original content for 3 Added Minutes. From long-form opinion pieces to off-beat takes on transfer rumour round-ups, I aim to report on the beautiful game in a way that engages as much as it informs. Originally from Durham, and currently based in Gateshead, I graduated from the University of Salford with an MA in Sports Journalism, and began my career with stints at Goal.com and Football Insider. I joined NationalWorld in late 2020, and have written for a variety of local titles, including the Yorkshire Evening Post, Sunderland Echo, and Sheffield Star, as well as our flagship national site. I helped to launch 3 Added Minutes in 2022, and have had a blast cultivating a distinct voice for a hugely exciting new project. Early highlights have included an intense month covering - and scrutinising - all things Qatar World Cup, as well as a slew of dafter moments, like getting into a slanging match with an AI chat bot or speculating on how every Premier League manager would fare in a zombie apocalypse. Currently seeking an opportunity to infiltrate the secretive world of football mascotry for a harrowing, tell-all expose on the rigours of life beneath the costume.
