Author Kit de Waal has been longlisted for the 2026 Women's Prize for Fiction with her latest novel, 'The Best of Everything' and you can see her in conversation at Oundle Festival of Literature on Friday 20th March.

Kit's writing is emotive and warm, blending humour and profound pathos as she tells authentic stories about the everyday lives of ordinary people.

Grazia magazine described 'The Best of Everything' as 'Devastating and uplifting', and the Observer said 'De Waals tone is warm and wise...she has a knack for the small charming moment. Very moving.'

Kit's first book 'My Name is Leon' was made into a film by Lenny Henry's production company after he was so taken with the novel whilst recording the audiobook.
