Held at Rockingham Triangle Athletics Stadium in Corby, the event brought together pupils from Beanfield Primary School, Compass Primary Academy, Gretton Primary Academy, Oakley Vale Primary School, Peckover Primary School, and Thrapston Primary School.

The day began with a series of energetic warm-up activities, setting the tone for an exciting day of sport. Pupils then put their skills to the test across a variety of sporting challenges, demonstrating teamwork, determination and encouragement for one another.

Children were encouraged to take part in all the day’s events, including the long jump, howler throw, shot put, three strides challenge, 75m sprint and an obstacle course. These were followed by a series of relay races, which saw teams of eight from each school compete against one another.

Hannah Layram, vice principal of Compass Primary Academy, organised this year's event. She said: “It was a joy to see the children come together and embrace each event with such enthusiasm.

“They all showed perseverance, determination and teamwork, supporting their peers along the way.”

At the end of the event, results were announced, and certificates awarded, with Beanfield Primary School crowned the overall winners.

Hannah added: “The Brooke Weston Trust Olympics is so much more than a competition. It’s about building confidence, developing teamwork skills and celebrating the willingness to give something new a go. We’re so proud of all the pupils who took part and the positive spirit they brought to the day.”

Andy Burns, CEO of Brooke Weston Trust, said: "It's fantastic to see our primary schools come together, learning from one another and celebrating the spirit of teamwork.

“Events like this provide a wonderful opportunity for pupils to build confidence and enjoy new experiences together. When our pupils look back on their school life, it'll be days like this that they will remember.”
