World Bee Day at Claremont Parkway Care Home
Residents of Claremont Parkway Care Home in Kettering, enjoyed celebrating World Bee Day yesterday with a welcome return from beekeeper Mark from happybeeshoney.

Mark shared some very interesting facts about the bees, demonstrated beekeeping equipment and explained the important role bees play in pollinating plants and supporting the environment.
Residents afterwards had the opportunity to ask questions, learnt about the art of making candles from the wax and also that bees could actually read!

The session brought smiles, laughter and a real sense of community while raising awareness around protecting these hardworking pollinators. It was a fascinating insight into the world of bees and to how much goes into keeping them.
Activities like these at Claremont Parkway provided stimulating and fun sessions for each of the residents, who love finding out new and interesting facts, with this session indicating the importance of the bees that happily go about their work.
World Bee Day is celebrated globally on May 20th. The UN theme for 2026 is "Bee together for people and the planet", which highlights the thousands of years of partnership between humanity and pollinators.
