Windy weather fails to dampen spirits at book wrapt Summer BBQ
Sunday 12 July saw members of the local community gather for a Summer BBQ hosted by book wrapt, and despite blustery conditions that tested even the sturdiest gazebos, the event proved to be a resounding success.

Set against a relaxed outdoor backdrop, guests were welcomed into a thoughtfully arranged space complete with bunting, seating, and a menu designed to bring people together over good food. While strong winds made their presence known throughout the afternoon, they did little to interrupt the warm and friendly atmosphere.
A special highlight of the day was the appearance of local author Sue Moorcroft (Sunday Times Bestseller), who joined guests to showcase her latest novel, Secrets of the Italian Guesthouse. Attendees had the opportunity to hear more about her work, adding an extra touch of literary charm to the event and delighting book lovers in attendance.

Guests enjoyed a selection of freshly prepared food while taking the opportunity to connect with others, share stories, and form new friendships. The event embodied book wrapt’s ethos of creating inviting spaces where people can come together, unwind, and build meaningful connections.
“It was one of those days where everything just came together,” said one attendee. “Even the wind couldn’t take away from how lovely it was.”
By the end of the afternoon, guests left not only with full plates and satisfied appetites, but also with new stories to tell and friendships to carry forward.
Organisers expressed their gratitude to everyone who attended and helped make the day such a memorable occasion. With plans already underway for future events, anticipation is building, especially as organisers hint that the next gathering is likely to be another sell-out.
