Wellingborough consultant publishes free AI policy for small firms

A Wellingborough AI consultant has published a free policy template to help Northamptonshire small businesses set rules for staff using ChatGPT and similar tools.

Davendra Patel, who runs 3rd Eye AI in Wellingborough, says the most common question local firms ask is what staff should be allowed to paste into an AI chatbot.

"Almost every business I speak to has people using ChatGPT or Copilot, and almost none has written down what's allowed," Patel said. "Client details end up in free tools, and AI-written text goes out unchecked. A one-page policy stops most of that."

The template is a Word document in plain English. It covers which tools a firm approves, what information must never be entered, who checks AI output before it is used, and how to report a mistake. It is free to download at 3rdeye.co.uk/ai-policy-template, with no sign-up.
