Swansgate Shopping Centre Powers Up May Half-Term with Packed Family Event
Families flocked to Swansgate Shopping Centre on Wednesday, 27th May, as the centre transformed into an interactive gaming-inspired world for its free “POWER UP” half-term event.
Running from 11am to 3pm, the event welcomed visitors of all ages for a day packed with hands-on activities, character appearances and family fun, creating a vibrant atmosphere throughout the centre during the school holidays.
Guests took part in the popular Power Star Search Trail, exploring the centre in search of hidden stars, while younger visitors enjoyed getting creative at the colouring station. Gaming fans also lined up to test their skills on the interactive go-kart Scalextric track, with character meet-and-greets proving to be a huge hit throughout the day.

The digital Coin Hunt competition added an extra level of excitement, with families competing to find all the missing coins for the chance to win a special prize.
Fiona Stevens, Marketing and Tenant Liaison Coordinator at Swansgate Shopping Centre, said: “It was fantastic to see so many families enjoying the event and spending time together at Swansgate during half-term. The atmosphere across the centre was brilliant, and it was great to see visitors fully embracing all of the activities throughout the day.”
The event forms part of Swansgate Shopping Centre’s ongoing commitment to delivering free community-focused experiences for local families and creating engaging reasons for visitors to spend time in the town centre.
