Swansgate Shopping Centre challenges families to ‘Power Up’ this May Half-Term

Get ready to level up your half-term plans. On Wednesday, 27th May, Swansgate Shopping Centre is set to transform into a vibrant, real-life game world for POWER UP, a free community event designed for heroes, explorers, and gamers of all ages.

From 11am to 3pm, the centre will swap shopping bags for power-ups, offering a full circuit of interactive activities that bring the digital world to life. Whether you’re a fan of classic games or high-speed racing, there is something for every member of the family to enjoy.

Swansgate has curated an experience featuring a variety of activities, including a Power Star Search Trail where visitors can embark on a quest through the centre to track down hidden stars. Visitors will also have the chance to meet their favourite characters at intervals throughout the day, while speed-seekers can start their engines on an interactive go-kart Scalextric track. For those looking for a more relaxed pace, a dedicated colouring station will be available for younger heroes to get creative.

Beyond the physical activities, the fun continues with a digital Coin Hunt competition. Visitors are encouraged to find all the missing coins to be entered into a special prize draw, adding an extra layer of excitement to the day's adventure.

"We are excited to bring the energy of the gaming world to Wellingborough," says Fiona Stevens, Marketing and Tenant Liaison Coordinator. "Our 'Power Up' event is all about providing a free, high-energy environment where families can create memories together during the school holidays."

This event is completely free to attend and will run from 11am until 3pm at Swansgate Shopping Centre, Wellingborough.
