Swansgate Shopping Centre brings high-energy "sporting spectacular" to Wellingborough this August

Swansgate Shopping Centre is set to host an action-packed month of activity this August with its Sporting Spectacular, a free series of family events designed to keep children active, entertained, and inspired all summer long.

Every Wednesday throughout August from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm, the interactive sports zone featuring vibrant challenges, live performances, and friendly competitions will open up. Designed to give local families a completely free, stress-free day out, parents can combine the fun with back-to-school shopping or a meal at one of the centre's cafes.

Action-Packed August Line-Up

The excitement kicks off on Wednesday, 5th August (11:00 am – 3:00 pm) with the Football Freestyle Challenge. Visitors can watch incredible live performances from a professional freestyler before diving into interactive skills workshops to learn tricks, flicks, and ball-control techniques of their own.

Things speed up on Wednesday, 12th August (11:00 am – 3:00 pm) with Motorsport Madness. Racing enthusiasts of all ages can put their driving skills to the test on a giant Scalextric track, competing for the fastest lap time in high-octane slot-car action.

The action shifts to track and field for a two-part Olympic experience. On Wednesday, 19th August (11:00 am – 3:00 pm), young athletes can tackle Mini Olympics: Track Events, running fast and jumping high as they navigate a specially designed obstacle course.

The summer series finishes strong on Wednesday, 26th August (11:00 am – 3:00 pm) with Mini Olympics: Field Events. Kids can step into the centre's field zone to take on Olympic-inspired games and test their strength, target skills, and agility.

All activities will take place at Swansgate Shopping Centre in Wellingborough every Wednesday in August (5th, 12th, 19th, and 26th) between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm. Every event in the series is completely free of charge with no booking required. For more details, visit the official Swansgate Shopping Centre website or follow their social media channels.
