Students leave their mark on Hatton's new school building in Wellingborough
Students from Sir Christopher Hatton Academy have signed their names into the school's future as construction work continues on a major new teaching block set to transform learning facilities in Wellingborough.

The exciting development, which remains on schedule for completion in August 2027, will provide additional classrooms, a dedicated open study space and enhanced facilities designed to support current and future generations of students.
To mark a significant milestone in the build, contractor PGR Construction recently welcomed a group of Hatton students onto the site for an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour.

During the visit, students were given the rare opportunity to sign the structural steelwork that will become a permanent part of the new building.
Accompanied by co-principal Nick Salisbury and representatives from PGR Construction, the students explored the developing site and gained an insight into the scale and ambition of the project.
The new block forms part of a wider investment of Sir Christopher Hatton Academy facilities and educational provision. Alongside high-quality teaching spaces, the development will also include a new Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA) at the rear of the site, expanding opportunities for sport, physical activity and recreation in the community.
Co-principal Nick Salisbury said: "This project represents a major investment in the future of Sir Christopher Hatton Academy and the wider community we serve.
"It was fantastic to see our students visit the site and quite literally leave their mark on a building that will support learning for many years to come.
"The new facilities will provide inspiring spaces for education, collaboration and personal development, helping us continue to offer the very best opportunities for young people."
Paul Vega, commercial manager, PGR Construction, said: “Today marks an exciting milestone for Sir Christopher Hatton Academy and PGR Construction is proud to celebrate this occasion alongside students and staff.
"Having students sign the steelwork creates a lasting connection to their new facility, while giving us the opportunity to inspire young people and showcase future careers in construction.”
The development is one of the most significant investments in the academy's recent history and reflects a continued commitment to providing modern, high-quality facilities that meet the needs of a growing school community.
With construction progressing well, students, staff and local residents can look forward to seeing the new building take shape over the coming months ahead of its planned opening in August 2027.
