Spirit of Corby shines through at Harvest Festival in aid of Corby Foodbank
Communities from across the town joined forces for a day of generosity and togetherness at this year’s Harvest Festival at Oakley Vale Community Centre on Saturday 3rd October, raising 660kgs of much-needed items for Corby Foodbank.

This year’s town-wide community event, organised in partnership with Corby Town Council, local faiths and community organisations, and supported by Lee Barron MP followed its inaugural launch last year, with a collection point for donations of non-perishable food items and toiletries in aid of Corby Foodbank surpassing 2025’s collection total of 547kg.
On the day there was music, entertainment and community activities. Free, hot food was also served up by members of Corby Central Masjid.

“The event was a great way to catch up with many multifaith community groups, councillors and friends from across Corby,” said Eyusuf Chaudhury from Corby Central Masjid.
“As usual, we contributed hot meals for the guests and for our homeless brothers and sisters. My heartiest thanks go to the team for organising an event that brings the whole community together.
Peter Moden, Chair of Oakley Vale Community Centre said: “The purpose of the day was for people to come along, enjoy the day, meet their neighbours, listen to some great music and be part of something that truly makes a real difference.
“The response we had from people and organisations from right across the town, including Corby Town Council, was exceptional.

“Everyone played their part in helping to make the Harvest Festival possible. The Oakley Vale Community Centre team would like to thank everyone who supported the event, especially the people of Corby, and Corby Primary Academy whose substantial donation of goods demonstrated the generosity that made the day such a success.”
Of the community-wide support given to Corby Foodbank, its manager Martin Langford said: “In a word, wow! Thanks to the amazing support of the community, the Harvest Festival event raised an incredible 660kgs of donations. That's over 110kgs more than last year’s event, which is phenomenal!
“Every donation will be used to provide three-day emergency, non-perishable food parcels to those experiencing food crisis.
“A big thank you goes out to everyone who played a part in the success of the day, including Oakley Vale Community Centre, Corby Central Masjid, and of course the people of Corby who came and supported us on the day. It was also great to have the Mayor of Corby, Councillor Steve O’Brien, and Lee Barron MP in attendance.”
