Recruitment event at Tresham College cancelled and service disruption due to red weather warning

The UK Health Security Agency and the Met Office have issued red weather warnings for parts of the UK, in effect from 9:00am on Wednesday 24 June through to 9:00pm on Thursday 25 June 2026. These warnings highlight the potential risks associated with extreme weather conditions and include guidance for the public on how to stay safe.

Considering this, Organisers DWP/NNC/Tresham College Group/Work Pays have taken the decision to cancel the Recruitment, Skills and Careers Event scheduled at Tresham College on Thursday 25 June 2026. This decision has been made to minimise travel and ensure the safety of our attendees, colleagues, and customers during this period of severe weather.

Additionally, in areas affected by the red weather warning:

• Jobcentres will be closed on Wednesday 24 June and Thursday 25 June 2026.

These precautionary measures will remain in place for the duration of the red weather warnings.

We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and would like to thank all partners, employers and participants for their continued support and commitment. The safety and wellbeing of our communities remain our highest priority.
