HbA1c measures average blood sugar levels over the previous two to three months. Screening can help identify raised levels that may need further investigation, with GP follow-up or confirmatory testing recommended where appropriate.

Clinic owner Georgina Bull said: “We want to give local people an affordable opportunity to find out more about blood testing in a friendly, familiar setting.

“You don’t need to be an existing patient or book ahead. You can simply drop in, ask questions and have the £5 HbA1c screening, with no obligation to purchase anything else.”

Other individual blood tests will be available at additional cost, including selected vitamin, iron-store, thyroid and hormone tests.

Two specially priced nutrient packages will also be offered. The Essential Nutrient Check costs £119 and includes ferritin, vitamin B12 and folate. The Extended Nutrient Check costs £149 and includes those tests plus vitamin D.

Anyone choosing either nutrient package during the open morning will receive complimentary HbA1c screening.

Visitors can discuss the available options with Natalie to understand what each test measures and whether it is suitable for them. Screening does not provide a complete health assessment.

The event takes place at Nene Valley Osteopathy, 46 Brook Street, Raunds, NN9 6LP, between 10am and 12pm on Saturday 24 October.
