Public invited to nominate for Local NHS Patient and Carer Choice Award

People across Northamptonshire are being encouraged to recognise the NHS teams who have made a real difference to their care by submitting a nomination for Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust’s (NHFT) Patient and Carer Choice Award. 

The award forms part of NHFT’s annual team awards, the THRIVE Awards and gives service users, patients, carers and families the opportunity to say thank you to a member of staff or a team who has provided outstanding care or support. 

NHFT provides over 200 services supporting the population of Northamptonshire and beyond at every stage of their lives. From health visitors to hospice care, from community nursing to physiotherapy, and mental health to sexual health, it is likely that our teams have supported you and your family through various life events or periods of ill health. 

Linda Chibuzor, Chief Nurse at Northamptonshire Healthcare, said: “Every day, NHFT colleagues make a difference to the lives of the people they care for whether through expert treatment and advice, taking the time to listen, or showing kindness during difficult moments"

How to nominate 

Submitting a nomination is quick and simple. Patients and carers can nominate any member of NHFT staff, including nurses, therapists, doctors, support workers and other colleagues.

‘The highlight of my whole career’ 

 Previous winner Dr Farida Jan spoke about the impact receiving the award had on her: “It was the highlight of my whole career. It gave me a renewed determination to make a difference to people’s lives. Hearing that narrative and what I received was very powerful – it was a real morale boost.”
