Pre-school receives £1,500 donation from county housebuilder
Sywell and Overstone Pre-School has received a £1,500 donation from David Wilson Homes, helping further its mission to provide accessible, high-quality early education for children in the local community and surrounding areas.

The pre-school operates during term times, offering a variety of hours to suit the ever-changing needs of families. Its aim is to build children’s confidence and independence, offer stimulating and creative opportunities, and support their social and emotional development.
This donation will support the pre-school’s kitchen refurbishment project, helping to fund equipment and resources that make cooking and baking activities more accessible and inclusive for children.
Nicola Egleton, Pre-School Manager at Sywell and Overstone Pre-School, said: “We were delighted to hear the news that we would be receiving this donation from David Wilson Homes.
“Fundraising plays a vital role in what we do. Our management committee, made up of a small group of parents, continually plan and organise fundraising events throughout the year. This donation will not only support their efforts but also provide essential resources to help us support children throughout their formative years.
“We would like to say thank you very much to David Wilson Homes for this generous donation. This support is very much appreciated, and the children are looking forward to getting involved with some exciting cooking and baking activities.”
David Wilson Homes’ donation was made as part of The Barratt Redrow Foundation, which is designed to support national and local charities, large and small, across the UK to leave a legacy in the communities in which the housebuilder operates.
The Barratt Redrow Foundation is celebrating its fifth anniversary in 2026. Since its launch, it has committed £20 million to charities and good causes, supported over 2,000 different charities, and is estimated to have directly impacted 100,000 young people each year.
Ben Kalus, Managing Director at David Wilson Homes South Midlands, said: “We are proud to support such an important part of the local community. It is incredibly rewarding to contribute to a local charity that creates a positive and nurturing environment for young children to grow and learn.”
