Plumbco to host charity football match in support of Ups N Downs

A Northamptonshire business is bringing the community together this May with a charity football match aimed at raising funds for its chosen charity of the year, Ups N Downs.

Plumbco will host a friendly but competitive match between its Wellingborough and Northampton branches on Friday, May 22, with kick-off at 6pm at Wellingborough Old Grammarians Memorial Sportsfield on Sywell Road.

The event is part of a wider programme of fundraising activities taking place throughout the year in support of Ups N Downs, a charity that provides support to children and young people with Down syndrome and their families.

Players from both branches will go head-to-head in what promises to be an entertaining fixture, with colleagues, customers and the local community all invited to attend and show their support.

Entry for players is £20, with all proceeds going directly to the charity. The event is also open to spectators, with a range of activities planned to create a fun, family-friendly atmosphere.

On the day, there will be food and drink available, a bouncy play area for children, and a charity raffle, with all funds raised contributing towards the overall total for Ups N Downs. Children attending the event will also be able to enjoy free food and drink.

Plumbco has also made sponsorship opportunities available for local businesses looking to support the cause and gain exposure within the community.

A spokesperson for Plumbco said: “We’re really excited to bring everyone together for what should be a great evening. It’s a fantastic opportunity to raise money for an incredible charity while also having a bit of friendly competition between our teams.”

The company is encouraging both players and spectators to get involved, with further fundraising events planned throughout the year.
