Oliver Wicksteed Column
Here’s hoping for a summer filled with sunshine and fun, as Wicksteed Park’s rides and attractions are now open every weekend, bank holiday and school holiday until the first week in October.

Our wonderful park combines a 281-acre estate including beautiful, listed parkland with more than 25 rides and attractions for all the family, including the iconic water chute, which has, of course, just celebrated its 100th birthday.

You can also enjoy family favourites such as Dinosaur Valley rollercoaster, Jolly Jockeys, Wicky’s Farmyard and the Railway, along with the Carousel, Sway Rider and Pig n’ Putt Crazy Golf.
After listening to feedback from visitors, and with help from a VAT reduction as part of the Government’s Great British Summer Savings scheme, the price of on-day wristbands purchased at the park has been reduced from £25 to £19.25 (£22 before June 27 and after September 2), to match the online purchase price.
Children under 0.9m get to experience the joy of Wicksteed Park for FREE with an accompanying paying adult.
As well as full park opening days, you can also enjoy Fun Time Fridays from 10am until 4pm for a day of family fun on June 26 and July 3 and 10.
Take a spin on the Carousel, play a round of crazy golf, enjoy Wicky’s Farmyard, the Heritage Toy Roundabout and the Cups and Saucers or experience the beautiful landscapes of the park from the train.
Wristbands are £8.75 person, with £3 individual tickets available to purchase on the day.
The same attractions will also be open for Wicky Wednesdays, offering a day of family fun featuring Wicky Bear, on June 17 and 24 (10am until 4pm).
You can meet Wicky at noon outside the Ice Cream Parlour, or as he walks about the park.
You can also collect a spotter’s sheet from the Gift Shop and return it for the chance to be entered into a prize draw for a complimentary return visit.
Wristbands are £10 per person, with £3.50 individual tickets available to purchase on the day.
The Great Wicksteed Car Boot Sale is back, with dates including Sunday July 19, Sunday August 9 and Sunday September 13 (all 12pm* until 4pm).
