Nominate a local hero or club for nationwide Community Sport and Recreation Awards 2026
The Sport and Recreation Alliance’s prestigious Community Sport and Recreation Awards is back for 2026, with the organisation looking to recognise the very best of grassroots sport and recreation from across the country.

There are eight different awards categories, including the Grassroots Hero Award, Community Club of the Year, Breaking Barriers Award and Wellbeing Champion Award. For a full list of categories, head to the Sport and Recreation Alliance’s website.
As has long been the case, volunteers continue to be the bedrock on which grassroots sport and recreation is built, and it simply would not survive without them. With this in mind, the Alliance is keen to encourage nominations for volunteers to ensure they receive the recognition they deserve.
Submitting an entry is simple and free, and the Alliance is keen to hear about projects, initiatives, and inspirational individuals that work with people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds. Each winner will receive a £500 prize as extra recognition for their incredible work.
Winners will be crowned at a special event later this year, at an exciting location to be confirmed soon.
If you know someone involved in sport and recreation who has gone above and beyond in the local community, simply nominate them before the deadline – it would be fantastic to see our local area represented!
For more information and to nominate, head to the Alliance’s website. The deadline for entries is Friday, September 11.
