New IWU champion crowned at Summer Blockbuster event in Kettering

Independent Wrestling Universe presented its second show of the year, the Summer Blockbuster to a jam packed audience at the KBA Sports Hall in Kettering on Saturday.

The night was headlined by the monstrous Levi Muir, who captured the IWU Heavyweight Championship from former champion of 645 days, Stealth.

Other matches featured on the show were: Kettering boys Brady Phillips and A-Star Andy Poole engaging in a war of one upping each other until Poole would nab the win.

An extravagant sixc-man Tag Team Match, saw Ritmo, Riley Nova and Hisham Harris seeing off the team of nationwide Tag Team, Capital Punishment, which included Burton Latimer's Mad Bull Markie, who made his professional wrestling debut after graduating from the IWU Training School in Kettering.

Summer Blockbuster also saw the first annual Free For All Brawl Battle Royal match which was won by young Eric Spector, also of Kettering.

'Unstoppable' Steve Pym proved he is just that as he beat Nottingham's Nathan Fisher.

Finally, Korie Kendricks, of Corby, would win his first match in IWU, getting the better of Professor Jones in one on one competition.

If you missed the Summer Blockbuster, don't miss the Brand New Day event which is scheduled for August 1 at the KBA Sports Hall in Kettering.
