Local roofing company sponsors children’s magazine boxes for Birmingham children’s Hospital
A Northamptonshire roofing company is helping to bring connection, creativity and comfort to children in hospital after sponsoring 20 L Magazine Boxes for Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

Reece James Roofing has donated £439, funding the delivery of 20 magazine boxes that will be given to children staying in hospital. Each box is packed with creative activities, gifts, a child-friendly magazine, pen pal opportunities and confidence-building resources designed to help children feel connected during difficult times.
L Magazine was founded by Lucy Downer from Kettering after seeing first-hand the isolation experienced by her daughter, Scarlett, who has complex health needs. The project was created to help children build confidence, make friendships and discover new interests, whether they are in hospital, home educated, living with long-term health conditions or simply looking for a positive community.

Lucy said:
“This sponsorship means so much to us. Every box represents a child who will have something exciting to open during what may be one of the hardest times in their life. We’re incredibly grateful to Reece James Roofing for believing in what we’re trying to achieve and helping us reach more children.”
The sponsored boxes will be delivered to Birmingham Children’s Hospital this week, with another delivery planned for Great Ormond Street Hospital shortly afterwards.
Founder of Reece James Roofing, Reece James, said he was pleased to support a project making a real difference to families and children facing challenging circumstances.
L Magazine is now looking for additional businesses to sponsor future hospital deliveries, allowing even more children to receive a free magazine box.
Businesses can sponsor any number of boxes, helping spread kindness, creativity and connection to children who need it most.
