There was a real sense of achievement at Kettering Science Academy today, as Year 11 students collected their GCSE results - the culmination of two years of dedication and hard work.

Students and their families gathered at the Academy, part of Brooke Weston Trust, to celebrate these accomplishments and discuss the exciting next steps ahead. While many students are preparing to continue their academic journeys at Kettering Science Academy’s Sixth Form, others are progressing to college courses, apprenticeship programmes, and further specialist training.

Jennie Giovanelli, Principal of Kettering Science Academy, said: “I am incredibly proud of every student collecting their results today. Each of them has shown such determination, and it is a privilege to see them reach this important milestone.

“At KSA, we pride ourselves on ‘igniting brilliance’ and encouraging every young person to be the best they can be. These results are a testament to that spirit, and I want to thank our fantastic staff for their support and our families for their commitment. I look forward to welcoming many of our students back in September to continue their studies and build upon the wonderful things they have already achieved.”

A number of students have achieved outstanding personal success this year. Among them:

  • Rynosuke Jenkins who achieved six grade 9s, two grade 8s, a grade 7, a L2D and a grade 6.

  • Riley Clarke who achieved one grade 9, five grade 8s and four grade 7s.

  • Harley Chiam who achieved one grade 9, two grade 8s, three grade 7s and a L2D.

  • Isla Mudd who achieved one grade 9, four grade 8s, one grade 7, one L2M and two grade 6s.

The year group has also seen great success in securing competitive pathways, with students gaining places on specialised apprenticeships and scholarship programmes. We also look forward to welcoming back a good proportion of our cohort to Kettering Science Academy's sixth form, including Rynosuke who will be studying Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry and Physics, and Isla who will be studying Maths, English and Psychology.

Andy Burns, newly appointed CEO of Brooke Weston Trust, said: “Today, all of our students should feel really proud of everything they’ve achieved. They’ve explored new subjects, built friendships, and discovered passions over the past few years, which is what school is truly all about.

“Everyone at Kettering Science Academy, from our teachers to our support staff, has worked hard to help students secure their ‘tickets for life,’ making the most of every opportunity while encouraging each one to approach their studies with real ambition. I am also very grateful to all our families who have provided such vital support along the way. At Brooke Weston Trust, we value more than just grades; we believe that success is reached in many different ways, and I can’t wait to see where these achievements take our students in the future.”
