Just 24 hours to go until Kettering's major recruitment, skills and careers event
Just 24 hours remain until one of Northamptonshire's largest employment and careers events opens its doors in Kettering.
Residents across Northamptonshire are being encouraged to attend the Recruitment, Skills & Careers Event at Tresham College on Thursday 22 October, bringing together employers, training providers, support organisations and careers advisers under one roof.
Hosted by Jobcentre Plus, Workpays, North Northamptonshire Council and Tresham College, the free event offers a fantastic opportunity for anyone looking for a new job, considering a career change, exploring training opportunities or seeking careers advice.
Open from 4pm to 6pm, the event welcomes jobseekers, students, those considering a career change and members of the wider community. Families are also encouraged to attend, helping make the event accessible to those who may otherwise face childcare challenges.
Visitors will have the opportunity to meet a wide range of employers recruiting across sectors including logistics, warehousing, construction, facilities management, local government, customer service, IT, care, the armed forces and public services. Attendees can discuss current vacancies, apprenticeships, training opportunities and volunteering roles directly with employers and industry representatives.
A highlight of the evening will be the Employer Spotlight Sessions, offering valuable insight into local career opportunities and recruitment plans:
• ISS Facilities Management – 4.15pm
• North Northamptonshire Council – 4.45pm
In addition to employers, visitors can access advice and support from organisations offering guidance on housing, benefits, employability, mental health, disability support and volunteering opportunities.
Representatives from Access to Work, Accommodation Concern, Kettering Mind, Mental Health Northants Collaborative, Northamptonshire Association for the Blind, Read Easy, SERVE and many more will be available throughout the event.
Training providers including Tresham College, Workpays, Bedford College Group and Kettering Learning Centre will also be on hand to discuss courses, qualifications and pathways into employment.
With organisations such as Alpro, Fox Resourcing, Echo Personnel, Extrastaff, Eurokey Recycling, XPO Logistics, Kier, Legacy Care, Percurra, ITFixio, Universal Care, the Army, Royal Navy, Probation Service, Civil Service and many other employers and organisations attending, there will be opportunities to explore careers across a wide variety of industries.
