International Nurses Day

International Nurses Day 2026 in the UK is celebrated on May 12. The theme for this year is "Our nurses. Our future. Empowered nurses save lives," which emphasises the importance of empowering nurses to lead and deliver high-quality care. The day is an opportunity to recognise and celebrate the extraordinary contribution nurses make to healthcare and the communities they serve. International nurses day is held on this day to celebrate the birth of Florence Nightingale, considered the pioneer of modern nursing.

Residents at Claremont Parkway care home, Kettering were delighted to show their appreciation for the many Nurses who work there with messages of their own, with one resident who was herself indeed a nurse with the lovely words "Thank you very much, the nurses all do a really good job x"

These messages of support, thanks and appreciation show just how much nurses are thought of in a role that is very demanding and also very rewarding.
