From Market Harborough to New York and back - the Northampton connections in my Sole Journey
I was born in Market Harborough, but Northampton has been part of my story since childhood. I spent countless Saturday mornings with my mother shopping in Debenhams and having lunch in the restaurant memories that stayed with me long after life took me much further afield.

My journey has taken me from Leicestershire to New York, Australia, Ireland, Scotland and Jersey, before eventually bringing me back home. Along the way there have been extraordinary adventures, love, loss, grief, a career built around the feet and a diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis.
There is another lovely Northampton connection that has recently brought those dots together. I met Darren Leyman the other day, who coaches Northampton cricket and is originally from Australia another unexpected connection between the places that have shaped my life.

Sole Journey, published in June 2026, is a 376-page memoir about resilience, self-discovery, adventure and learning to listen to yourself. Multiple Sclerosis is part of my story, but it certainly doesn’t define the book.
Now back in Leicestershire, I’m beginning a new chapter through my writing, talks, workshops and retreats.
