Fantastic Oakley Fest 26
More than 1,000 people attend Oakley Fest 26 in a celebration of community spirit.
More than 1,000 people came together on Saturday, 4 July, as Oakley Vale Community Centre hosted its annual Oakley Fest 26, delivering a fantastic day of entertainment, community spirit and family fun.
The popular event brought together residents from across Corby to enjoy a packed programme of live performances, activities and attractions, making it one of the best-attended Oakley Fest events to date.
A wide range of talented local performers entertained the crowds throughout the day. Highlights included performances from, Great Oakley and District U3A Ukulele Band, the Corby Amateur Theatrical Society, Steel Spirit Cheerleading, whose spectacular display in the main arena had spectators in awe, the ever-popular Cordless Corby Choir, and the energetic youngsters from Crazy Feet Dance School.
Visitors also enjoyed almost 50 craft stalls showcasing the creativity of local makers, a popular dog show, bouncy castles, and plenty of family entertainment throughout the day. Keeping the event running smoothly was Master of Ceremonies Craig Douglas, who ensured the celebrations flowed from start to finish.
The success of Oakley Fest 26 was made possible through the dedication of the community centre's trustees, volunteers, helpers and supporters, who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to organise the event.
Peter Moden also expressed his sincere thanks to Corby Town Council for its continued support, both financially and through the hands-on assistance of councillors and staff who helped make the day such a success. A special mention to Cllr Ceilidh Devine, Cllr Chris Stanbra and Cllr William Colquhoun, who all worked incredibly hard during the day.
Peter Moden Chairman of Oakley Vale Community Centre said: "Oakley Fest is all about bringing our community together, celebrating local talent and creating a fantastic day for families. Seeing more than a thousand people enjoying themselves was truly wonderful. We would like to thank every performer, volunteer, stallholder, sponsor and visitor who helped make Oakley Fest 26 such a memorable success. We are especially grateful to Corby Town Council for their ongoing support and look forward to welcoming everyone back next year."
Oakley Fest continues to be one of Corby's most anticipated annual community events, providing a valuable opportunity for local groups, performers, businesses and residents to come together in a welcoming and vibrant atmosphere.
