Easter fair combats social isolation and enriches residents' experiences
On Saturday, April 4, Palmer Court in Wellingborough opened its doors to guests for an Easter fair which featured cake stalls, tombola, crochet and knitwear, jewellery, homeopathic remedies, raffles and much more.
More than 50 visitors attended including the Assistant Grand Master of the Order of Women Freemasons, Mabs Attwood, and it proved a very successful event that helped to achieve many positive outcomes; including raising money for a fund to help enrich the social lives of residents.

Palmer Court chairman Ian Richards said: “Events such as this are essential in order to connect residents with the wider community. Isolation and loneliness are common challenges that elderly residents face and our ongoing social engagement program at Palmer Court is successfully combatting that issue”.
The event also enabled another big win for the court. It raises awareness for Palmer Court in the community as a potential home for those looking at accommodation in their latter years. Palmer Court continues to prove a vibrant, social and lively place for its residents.

Scheme manager Chris Rayatt said: “Being able to raise money for the resident’s enrichment fund at the same time as helping with social isolation is a win-win for Palmer Court and its residents. The enrichment fund is essential to enable our residents to flourish in their senior years.”
