Defibrillators purchased in memory of beloved Scout leader
"Adrian was a cornerstone of our team and gave so much time, care and energy to Scouting”
A number of defibrillators have been purchased in memory of a much‑loved Scout volunteer whose sudden death has deeply affected the local Scouting community.

The life‑saving equipment has been funded as a lasting tribute to Adrian Jewell, who has died at the age of 58. Adrian was a dedicated volunteer, in Wellingborough Scouts for 40 years and was a key and highly valued member of the Scout leadership team. His unexpected passing came as a shock to everyone involved in Scouting across the area.
The defibrillators will be installed at Dale End Scout Centre and Wellingborough District Scout Shop in Newcomen Road Wellingborough to ensure they are easily accessible to the public in the event of a medical emergency. In addition, a portable defibrillator will be made available for Scout Groups to take with them when attending camps, trips and outdoor activities.
This initiative reflects Adrian's longstanding commitment to the safety, wellbeing and development of young people. By improving access to emergency equipment, the project aims to help protect lives and support communities for years to come.
A spokesperson for Wellingborough District Scouts said: "Adrian was a cornerstone of our team and gave so much time, care and energy to Scouting. While nothing can replace such a loss, we hope these defibrillators will be a positive legacy that honours his dedication and helps others in moments when it matters most.”
The Scouts would like to thank everyone who has supported the initiative and helped turn remembrance into meaningful action for the wider community. anyone wishing to donate in memory of Adrian is invited to visit www.wellingboroughscouts.co.uk to contact a member of the District team.
