Cottingham Church to host jazz concert

St Mary Magdalene Church in Cottingham and is presenting a laid back afternoon of music next Sunday, August 16, when the 24 Carat Jazz trio will be performing as part of the ‘Sunday Sessions’ series.

Featuring Jane Smith on vocals and tenor sax, John Deane on piano and Kevin Griffiths on double bass, this popular trio plays easy listening jazz and swing favourites from the likes of Ella Fitzgerald, George Gershwin, Cole Porter and Frank Sinatra, to name but a few.

They’ll also be playing a few modern numbers with a jazz twist.

All profits from the concert will go to the project to get a toilet installed at Cottingham’s Grade I listed church. Doors open at 3pm and the music will start at 3.30pm.
